Intrinsic pinning on structural domains in underdoped single crystals of Ba(Fe1−xCox)2As2

Critical current density was studied in single crystals of Ba Fe1−xCox 2As2 for the values of x spanning the entire doping phase diagram. A noticeable enhancement was found for slightly underdoped crystals with the peak at x=0.058. Using a combination of polarized-light imaging, x-ray diffraction and magnetic measurements we associate this behavior with the intrinsic pinning on structural domai...

Susceptibility anisotropy in an iron arsenide superconductor revealed by x-ray diffraction in pulsed magnetic fields.

In addition to unconventional high-T(c) superconductivity, the iron arsenides exhibit strong magnetoelastic coupling and a notable electronic anisotropy within the a-b plane. We relate these properties by studying underdoped Ba(Fe(1-x)Co(x))2As2 by x-ray diffraction in pulsed magnetic fields up to 27.5 T. We exploit magnetic detwinning effects to demonstrate anisotropy in the in-plane susceptib...

Contrasting spin dynamics between underdoped and overdoped Ba(Fe1-xCox)2As2.

We report the first NMR investigation of spin dynamics in the overdoped nonsuperconducting regime of Ba(Fe1-xCox)2As2 up to x=0.26. We demonstrate that the absence of interband transitions with large momentum transfer Q{AF} approximately (pi/a,0) between the hole and electron Fermi surfaces results in complete suppression of antiferromagnetic spin fluctuations for x greater than or approximatel...

Magnetization distribution in the tetragonal Ba(Fe1−xCox)2As2, x=0.066 probed by polarized neutron diffraction

Polarized neutron diffraction has been performed on a tetragonal Ba(Fe1−xCox)2As2, x= 0.066 single crystal under an applied magnetic field of 6T directed along the [110] direction to determine the magnetic structure factors of various Bragg reflections. The maximum entropy reconstruction based on bulk magnetization measurements and polarized neutron diffraction data reveal a small induced magne...

Jump in specific heat at the superconducting transition temperature in Ba(Fe1â‹TMxCox)2As2 and Ba(Fe1â‹TMxNix)2As2 single crystals

We present detailed heat capacity measurements for Ba(Fe1−xCox)2As2 and Ba(Fe1−xNix)2As2 single crystals in the vicinity of the superconducting transitions. The specific-heat jump at the superconducting transition temperature (Tc), ΔCp/Tc, changes by a factor of ∼10 across these series. The ΔCp/Tc vs Tc data of this work [together with the literature data for Ba(Fe0.939Co0.061)2As2, (Ba0.55K0.4...
